Multi-state litigation lawyers
The lawyers at Winget-Hernandez, P.C. are litigators. We are both former assistant attorneys general with many years of experience in affirmative, complex, multi-district, multi-state litigation against the largest and most prestigious firms in the United States, and against defendants whose names are readily recognized by anyone who has ever watched the evening news. Michael has also spent many years defending lawsuits against large agencies and public officials.
If you are not a litigator and have a case going into litigation, Michael and Lelia can bring experience to your team and be a strong advocate for your client’s case.
For 15 years, Michael worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the Texas Attorney General office. His skills include trial work in the areas of:
- Civil Medicaid Fraud Division
- General Litigation Division
- Civil Rights Section
- Consumer Protection Division
- Transportation Division
- Discrimination and Employment Law
- Real Property Litigation
In association with other law firms, Michael has represented the City of New York, and numerous New York counties, and the states of Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin, in litigation against the pharmaceutical industry. The litigation is based on the allegation that the pharmaceutical industry violated a number of state and federal laws in connection with its publication and use of prices which resulted in excessive payments by these clients under Medicaid.
